The City of Coral Springs offers a memorial program. This program is only available to current Coral Springs residents. Residents have the option to purchase a tree and/or park bench from the city or a bronze plaque from an independent company to commemorate a person.
The Parks and Recreation Department will install the tree, and/or bench, and plaque at a city location picked by the resident but deemed safe and appropriate by staff. Not all areas may be suitable for bench placement, and it is at the discretion of the Parks and Recreation department to allow benches.
The type of tree selected must be suitable to the South Florida environment and may be limited to availability at the time of installation.
Plaques of flat bronze metal with a maximum size of 7”x 5” may include appropriate text and/or images. Plaque layouts need to be provided to the department for final approval. The Parks and Recreation Department will not maintain the paint, finish, stain, or any other decorative aesthetic appearance of any plaques during the period they are in the park.
Installed trees, benches, and plaques will be retained in place for as long as practicable. The City of Coral Springs reserves the right to relocate as necessary and does not guarantee tree longevity due to storm-related incidents. The City of Coral Springs will ensure careful maintenance around the memorial plaque, but will not be responsible for damages, wear, or loss of a plaque. The provider will be responsible for the care, maintenance, or replacement of a plaque.
