If your wiener dog has the need for speed, comes from an impressive bloodline, or just wants participation bragging rights, then don’t miss out on the Coral Springs Oktoberfest Wiener Dog Dash! Only genuine, low-to-the-ground Dachshunds will be allowed to race with no experience necessary.
Pawticipants must register by September 29th, but don’t howl in distress if you miss the deadline; every sporting event needs cheerleaders.

Racers must have current rabies tags on or proof of up-to-date Rabies, Distemper, and Parvo Vaccinations or a letter from a Vet.

About the Handler
Wiener Dog Dash Rules & Regulations
1. Only genuine, low-to-the-ground Dachshunds.
2. Space is limited. Only 15 dachshunds are chosen to race.
3. Costumes encouraged. There will be prizes for the best costume as well as first, second, and third place race winners.
4. The dachshund dash will be 50 feet on the Oktoberfest “track.”
5. Each participating dachshund will need to bring two (2) humans. Humans must be able to carry and/or catch the dog.
6. One human will carry the racer to the starting line. The other human will stand at the finish line and catch the racing canine.
7. All humans will be required to sign a consent waiver releasing the City of Coral Springs from all liabilities and allowing the City of Coral Springs to use their names and likenesses in promotional advertising.
8. The humans may coax their runners with a favorite chew toy, scarf or treat. No dog whistles or other shrill whistles are allowed.
9. Humans should not carry any loose articles onto the racetrack. Humans should wear comfortable shoes. Only canines will be allowed to be barefoot.
10. Humans are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. Canines in heat will not be allowed.
11. All dogs must be leashed until race time.
12. REMEMBER: The only thing serious about this race is the FUN! For the safety of everyone concerned, the City reserves the right to refuse participation to humans who cannot meet all qualifications of the race.
